Programme Highlights
When Human Capital Becomes Enterprise Strategy
The boardroom no longer asks what HR can do for the business. It asks what the business can achieve through its people. For senior HR leaders approaching the inflection point between functional excellence and enterprise influence, this question defines the next chapter. Not as a shift in title, but as a transformation in mandate—from managing talent systems to shaping competitive advantage, from responding to business needs to anticipating strategic imperatives, from executing people programmes to driving organisational outcomes. This is the terrain of the Chief Human Resource Officer.
Organizations with mature, strategic HR leadership deliver up to 3.5× higher revenue growth and 2.1× higher profit margins than their peers. — BCG & World Federation of People Management Associations (Global HR Competency Study)
Programme Objective
IIM Indore’s approach to executive education in human resources is grounded in a clear premise: HR leaders must be equipped not only to manage people systems, but to shape the strategic decisions that determine organisational trajectory.
This programme was developed in response to a fundamental shift in how enterprises derive value. In knowledge-intensive, digitally enabled economies, competitive advantage increasingly resides in workforce capability, culture, and leadership continuity. CHROs are expected to architect these assets with the same rigour that CFOs bring to capital allocation.
The curriculum reflects this imperative. Participants engage with frameworks drawn from strategic management, organisational economics, leadership theory, data science, and cross-functional business disciplines. Faculty bring both academic rigour and insight into how HR influences board-level outcomes in complex, global enterprises.
This is not a generalist HR programme. It is a leadership programme for those who will define what human capital strategy means at the highest levels of the organisation.
